Philippine Insurrection Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Private in Company G, 19th U.S. Infantry for action at Mount Amia, Cebu, Philippine Islands on February 4, 1900. His citation reads "Singlehanded defended his mortally wounded captain from an overwhelming force of the enemy."
