Edith Barlow, 70, of Route 9, North Wilkesboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Barlow was born May 4, 1923 in Wilkes County to Robert Lee and Belle Baugess Faw.


A Navy veteran of World War II, she was a homemaker and a member of Cricket Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Jack Barlow; three sons, Tom Minton of Boomer, Sam Minton of Wilkesboro, and Randy Barlow of Purlear; one daughter, June Jarvis or Boomer; four brothers, Jack Faw of Bossier City, La, Jim Faw of Ronda, Clyde Faw of Pfafftown and Bob Faw of North Wilkesboro; three sisters, Linda Walker of Boonville, Patsy Edminston of Wilkesboro, and Fern Moore of North Wilkesboro; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Cricket Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dean Rector and the Rev. Paul Laws. Burial will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens.
