John A. Birschbach, 95 of St. Peter, died Tuesday at the Villa Loretta Nursing Home, Mt. Calvary.

Born on May 23, 1878, he was the son of the late Anton and Gertrude Birschbach.

He married the former Mary Bertram on April 17, 1907 at St. Peter.

The couple farmed in the St. Peter area. She died in 1957.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society and St. Anthony Society of St. Peter's Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ray Blatz, Stockbridge, Mrs. Ray Ditter, Loyal, and Mrs. Elmer Freund of New Holstein; a son, Herman, Schiller Park, Ill.; a brother, William of Fond du Lac; a sister, Miss Anna Birschbach, Fond du Lac; 34 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Two sons, two grandchildren, five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter Church, St. Peter, preceded by family rites at 10:30 a.m., at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
