Mr. Bowser was born July 23, 1937 in Oakland and died March 26, in a Bakersfield hospital after a short bout with cancer.
He raised in the Santa Ynez Valley. he spent 16 years in the Lompoc Valley where he and his wife raised their four children. He had lived in Taft for the past nine years and was last employed for the West Side Recreation and Parks District as a maintenance worker.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona Bowser, who died in 1980 and a son, Robert Lee, who died in 1959. He is survived by his wife, three children, seven grandchildren, his father and step mother, two sisters and their husbands, a step brother, and two step sisters.
Those who wish may call at the Erickson & Brown Funeral home Tuesday until 8:30 p.n. to pay their respect.
