Second of five daughters of John & Lizzie Roesch Meyer, Lorine became a housekeeper for the William Althouse family.
She married W. Floyd Althouse on Feb. 28, 1946. They took over the family Sibley Estate tenant farm in 1948 and remained until they retired in 1966.
Their eldest son Michael died in 1968. They had two daughters and another son.
Confirmed at St. John's Lutheran church, Lorine joined and became very active in the Sibley United Methodist church after her marriage.
