Mass of the Resurrection for Mandy Nilson, 83, of Maddock will be held Wed. at 10 a.m. at St. William's Catholic Church in Maddock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Maddock. He died Feb. 28, 1997 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby.

Fr. George Bodziachowski, Fr. Bernard Pfau & Fr. Bernard Schneider will be celebrants. Pallbearers will be Sever Olson, Jack Orts, James Wack, Jerry Rice, Maury Foss, Arden Warner, Art Benson, Rodger Benson, Martin Anderson, Art Duren, Henning Olson, John Scott, Darral White & Gary Wald. Marge Duren will be organist, RaeAnn Lynne will be pianist & Renee Summers will be soloist. The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock is in charge of arrangements.

Mandy Seville Nilson was born Sept. 8, 1913 in Arne Township of Benson County to Nils & Emma Sorlie Nilson. He attended school in Arne Township.

He married Violet Martian Nov. 4, 1946 in Esmond. They lived & farmed on the family homestead in Arne Township until retiring in 1980 & moving to Maddock.

Survivors include his wife; 4 sons & 2 daughters-in-law, Gary Nilson of Maddock, Michael & Susan Nilson of Andover, Kans., Lynn & Ellen Nilson of Fargo & Darren Nilson of Phoenix, Ariz.; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Deborah & Pat Feist of Tacoma, Wash., Corlyce & Troy Wallner of Fargo & Mary Ann & Carl Stael von Holstein of Moorhead, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; & 3 sisters & a brother-in-law, Vera & Mendie Benson of Maddock, Marlain Vanhoff of Seattle, Wash. & Jane Thompson of Bend, Ore.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryll Nilson; 3 brothers, Bartley, Obert & Arvid Nilson; & 5 sisters, Edith Iverson, Ardis Olson, Ercell Lawrence, Clennie Robarge & Orphia Benson.
