Junius Davis enlisted in Lenoir County, NC at
age 17, June 25, 1863 for the war. Mustered
in as a Private and appointed Guidon
September/October 1863. He enlisted in
Company E, First Regiment North Carolina
Artillery. Present or accounted
for through June 1864. Wounded at
Petersburg, VA, July 30, 1864. Paroled at
Greensboro, NC May 10, 1965.
He was the son of George Davis and his first
wife, Mary Polk. After the War he came to the
Bar and was associated with his father.
After the war he was also active in the
North Carolina Confederate Veterans
organization serving as Adjutant
General & Chief of Staff, North Carolina
United Confederate Veterans.
