Mr. Michael Williamson, age 70, of Highway 297, Soperton, Georgia (Oak Park Community), died Tuesday morning May 31, 2011, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

A son of the late G.B. and Zelma Corbin Williamson, Mr. Williamson was born near Oak Park, and had lived in this community most of his life. He was retired from law enforcement and was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church. He was also a member of the McLeod-Moring Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 am. in the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend H.G. Ridgdill officiating. Interment will follow in the Solomon Williamson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Larry Braddy, William Campbell, Jr., William Campbell, III, Sam Harris, Jr., Keith Corbin, Kevin Corbin, and James Williamson.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Williamson, of the Oak Park Community; two sons, Chris Williamson of Woodbine, and Greg Williamson of Reidsville; a daughter, Tracy W. Sutton of Senoia; a brother, Jonathan Williamson, and a sister, Olivia W. Braddy, both of the Oak Park Community.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening between the hours of 6 and 9 pm. at the funeral home.
