DIED IN THE SERVICE OF HIS COUNTRY

Lieutenant Hill was the pilot of U.S. Army Air Corps B-17E Flying Fortress #41-2598. Perished when the bomber crashed 7 miles east of the airbase at Walla Walla, Washington. Four other airmen were also killed.
