Mae Louise Womble, 84, joined her Savior on May 21, 2011. She was born Dec. 26, 1926, in Enid OK, the daughter of Fred and Reacie (Preston) Reddick.
Mae Louise was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of Southgate PH Church. She was a Registered Nurse who helped deliver many children, seeing that they came into this world safely. Mae Louise loved cooking, sewing, spelling, and being a Prayer Warrior. She was runner-up in the Oklahoma Senior State Spelling Bee three years in a row. Music was a major part of Mae Louise's life, but her true joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands William Burl Aycock and George Lawrence Womble, Sr.; daughter Kay Taylor; daughter-in-law Vickie Aycock; son-in-law Troy Smith; and brothers John Herbert and Preston Reddick.
Mae Louise leaves precious memories with her sons Bill Aycock, Jim Aycock, and Larry Womble, Jr.; daughters Sherry Roberts, Jana Bills, Deborah Lee Smith, Fay Duvall, and Mary Martin, and their spouses; brothers Jim Reddick and George Reddick; sisters Elizabeth Robinson, Maudalee Dillman, and Freda Cascioli; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; close lifelong friend Mondella Craig; and many friends and other loved ones.
A service to celebrate May Louise's life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Southgate Pentecostal Holiness Church. Graveside services will be later that day at 3 p.m. at the Enid Cemetery in Enid.
[Mrs. Womble served in the Nursing Cadets of WW II from 1942 to 1948.]
