Robert served as a Private in Company B, 30th Battalion, 1st Regiment Infantry Res. Tr. Corps, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Spencerport, Monroe County, New York & was a member of the New York National Guard prior to the war.

His National Guard unit was called into full time active Army service on October 15, 1940, prior to the war, from Rochester, New York. He was noted, at that time, as being employed as a Cook and also as Single, without dependents.

Robert died of a "Non Battle" related incident at Fort McClellan, Ala. during the war.
