She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many capacities in all auxiliaries in the church. She served a Stake Mission as well as a Service Mission for the church, also called to be a Consultant at the Family History Center. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Her greatest calling was as a volunteer at the Provo Temple for 21 years. She enjoyed doing genealogy and writing Histories. She was a visiting teacher for 63 years. Her greatest love was her family and the Gospel. Peggy belonged to Granny Tappers performing on a cruise ship. She loved working in her yard and was proud of her flowers.
Survivors include a son Roger L. Benson, Orem; grandchildren: Marti (Chad) Larsen, Monyka Benson-Landry, Geoffrey Benson, and Jodi Barton; 10 Great Grandchildren; two great-great grandsons, and two great-great step grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents; two sons Randy E. and Mark J.; two sisters Marjorie Leona Witbeck & Darlene Brown; a brother Donald Wayne Brown, a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law. The family would like to thank the ladies of the Park 3rd Ward for all the service to Peggy and her family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Park 3rd Ward Chapel, 195 West 300 South in Orem. Interment will be in the Wasatch Lawn Cemtery, 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC.
