Lahoma Hicks passed away Feb. 17, 2003, at Midwest City Hospital. Lahoma
was born Aug. 15, 1913 in Faxon, OK to David and Maggie Williams-Bearden.
She lived on the family farm in Kiowa County until March of 2002, then she
lived in OKC in an assisted living center. She was a loving Mother and
Grandmother. She is survived by, two sons: Dewayne Hicks and wife Dorothy
of Mustang, OK, Junior Hicks of Mountain Park, OK; two daughters: Lavonne
Hicks and husband Jack of Del City, OK, Patricia Hicks-Nichols and husband
Jim of Del City, OK. Grandchildren: Ladonna Hicks-Sellars, Larry Hicks,
Jennie HicksCallies, Marvin Stanford, Calvin Stanford, Brenda Stanford-
Roberson, Tami Nichols-Siemens, Teri Nichols-McClung, Laila
NicholsCampbell, Geoffrey Lee, Gregory Sandie, Junita HickSteckley,
Junetta HicksTurner and Leah Hicks, 29 great grandchildren, 9 great great
grandchildren. Lahoma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband
Halbert, a daughter Georgia Mae, a granddaughter Teresa Lynn Nichols, a
great grandson Timothy Stanford, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. For many years,
she owned and operated Lahoma's Beauty Shop in Snyder, OK. When Lahoma
moved to OKC she missed her many friends in Snyder and wanted them all to
know how special they were to her. Lahoma was a woman in charge of her own
life even to the end. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
There will be a prayer service 7:00PM Wed. Feb. 19, 2003 at Barnes and
Johnson Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Thurs. at 2:00PM, First
Baptist Church of Snyder, OK. Burial will be at Mountain Park Cemetery.
