THE PARIS NEWS Fri., May 31, 1935. 'Joseph Abs, 58 year old native of Syria and a resident of Paris 43 years, died at 6:20 o'clock on Thursday, evening at St. Joseph 's Hospital after an illness. He had for a number of years been a merchant here. The funeral will be held at 9:30 o'clock Saturday, morning at Our Lady of Victory Church conducted by the pastor, the Rev F. J. Schiessl. John Hollje, A. N. Nolan, Andy Dwyer, A. Frenn, Frank Marx and David Coury of Tyler will be pallbearers. Mr. Abs was unmarried, the only immediate relatives surviving being a brother, John Abs of Paris and 2 sisters, Mrs. John Bershara of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs. John Francis, now living in Syria.
