Katherine M. Adams, 82, of 5 East Granger St., Hanover, died Monday morning, March 26, at the Hanover General Hospital, where she was a patient for four weeks.
Born in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Odelia Gruninger Hemler.
She was the wife of the late Joseph H. Adams, who died in 1949.
A member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, she served as secretary from 1964 until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of the Rosary and Alter Society and the Legion of Mary of the church, and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, McSherrystown.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Odelia A. Hilbert of Spring Grove; Miss Kathleen M. Adams, at home; Mrs. Martha A. Staub of McSherrystown; five grandchildren; one brother, Harold Hemler of Hanover; and one sister, Mrs. Pauline Bang of Westminster, Md.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, meeting at Hicks Funeral Home, McSherrystown at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Church at 10 a.m. Her pastor, Monsignor Robert C. Gribbin will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Scared Heart Cemetery, Edge Grove.
