Roy Jarrett, 74, of 2125 Nevada Ave., a 50 year resident of Granite City, died at 11:07 a. m. Sunday, Jan 29, 1978 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

He was born in Iberia, MO. Mr. Jarrett had been in ill health several years and was a patient in the hospital one day.

Mr. Jarrett was involved in the coal and ice business and was self-employed.

A member of the Fairview Church of Christ in Iberia, he also belonged to the Teamsters and Chauffers Union 525 and Eagles Aerie 1126.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ella Jarrett; three sons, Robert, Charles and Ronald Jarrett, all of Granite City; one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Jackie) Jackson of Glen Carbon; a brother, Victor Jarrett of Eldon, MO; two sisters, Mrs. Lowell (Maude) Jolly of Granite City, and Mrs. Andrew (Edna) Overholtz of Marine, IL; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services at 10 a. m. Wednesday, Feb 1, at Mercer Mortuary Chapel, 1416 Niedringhaus Ave. Interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville Township. Visitation after 7 p. m. Tuesday.
