Elton Beck, longtime Scurry County resident, died Tuesday, June 3, at his home in Snyder. Funeral service for Mr. Beck, 81, is set for 10a.m. Saturday in the Bell-Cypert Seale Funeral Home Chapel with Edwin Parks and Keith Hackfeld officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Born Dec. 23, 1926 in Tom Green County he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A farmer and stockman, Mr. Beck married Reba Ina Miller on April 6, 1947 in Snyder. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Reba Beck of Snyder; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Marlene Beck of Snyder and Don and Cindy Beck of Lubbock; a brother, Jimmy Beck of Snyder; seven grandchildren, Daniel Beck of Big Spring, Barbara Garcia of Anson, Shayna Buckner and Kay McCarthy, both of Lubbock, Dennis Beck and Tommy Linsley, both of Snyder and Terry Linsley of Madison, Wis.; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 this evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be contributed to the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center or West Texas Rehab.
