Elwood E. Rothrock, 93, of Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, formerly of Cedar Grove, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Community Church of Cedar Grove, 65 Bowden Rd., Cedar Grove. Elwood was born in Jersey City, raised in Bloomfield, lived in Orange and settled in Cedar Grove in 1950. He served in the Army during World War II, and worked as a lithographer at Mehan Tooker Lithography, retiring at the age of 62. Elwood was a member of the Couples Club of the Community Church of Cedar Grove. He also had a love of baseball, and he devoted much of his life to the Cedar Grove Junior Baseball League as a coach. He also helped build the Bradford Avenue Field. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to the late Alice S. Rothrock; devoted father to Donald and his wife, Lu Anne, and Gary and his wife, Patty; cherished grandfather to Geoffrey, Eric, Heidi, David, and Laura, and dear brother to Robert and his wife, Harriet.
