Mrs. Andrew Bennett

Mary Elizabeth Gideon, daughter of Henry and Nancy Gideon, was born in Champaign county, Ohio, April 24, 1842 and died at the home of her son, G. N. Bennett, June 18, 1935, at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 24 days.

With her parents, she came to Iowa in 1854. On February 28, 1860, she was united in marriage to Andrew Bennett who preceded her in death December 14, 1905.

Those surviving the deceased are one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Allen of Adel, and five sons, F. A. of Chicago, Illinois; Gerald M. of Benson, Minnesota; A. L. and George N. and W. V. of this county. The children who preceded her in death were Zetta Mildred, Mrs. M. F. Shepherd, and Marquis Alvin. She also leaves 26 grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren, and a number of great, great grandchildren to mourn their loss.

Services were held at the home of G. N. Bennett and two o'clock Thursday afternoon, June 20th by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial was in the Bennett cemetery.
