James Tuney Hardy, 82 of Midland, VA died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. James was born in West Virginia on June 13, 1928 to Robert and Edna Hardy. In addition to his parents, his wife Reba A. Hardy, a grandson Thomas Corbin, Jr., brothers; Lewis and William Hardy, sisters; Mary Wellar and Elsie Hardy and great granddaughter, Makiah Webster, precede him in death,

James was a member of the American Legion Post 247. He worked for 21 years with Gill Implement and finished his career with Wayland Ford Tractor Co. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing the guitar, mandolin and banjo.

Survivors include his four daughters and their spouses; Susan and Rick Grigsby of Amissville, Donna and Everett Corbin of Midland, Sharon and Dwayne Jones of Ruckersville, Sandra and Paul Cole also of Midland, 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Clara Wright and Ida Dowdy both of Leesburg.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Moser Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Haymarket, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catlett Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O. Box 280 Catlett, VA 20119 or the Hospice of the Rapidan P.O. Box 1715 Culpeper, VA 22701.
