Rudolph Arp

WALCOTT, Iowa - Services for Rudolph H. Arp Jr., 82, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. today.


Mr. Arp died Sunday at Davenport Medical Center.


He farmed near Walcott from 1937-69. After that, he worked for the Scott County Assessor's Office.


He married Florence Siebke in 1937 in Davenport. They celebrated their 55th anniversary Jan. 20.


He was a social member of Walcott Legion, and 50-year member of the Knights of Pythias, Walcott.


His hobbies were bowling and playing cards, and he was a St. Louis Cardinal fan.


Memorials may be made to Walcott Fire Department, Walcott Legion and Walcott Lions Club.


Survivors include his wife; sons, Virgil, Riverdale; Rudolph III, Walcott; and Ronald, Lewisville, Texas; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and brothers, Edwin Sr. and Lester, both of Walcott; and Karl, Davenport.
