Melvin G. Baisch, 71, of De Soto died July 13, 1998, at Baisch Nursing Center in De Soto.
Mr. Baisch had been the owner of B & S Auto Parts in De Soto for more than 30 years and prior to that he was the owner of a Conoco service station for 18 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in De Soto and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Born Oct. 4, 1926, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Rudy and Alice (Ledinger) Baisch.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta M. (Larkin) Baisch of De Soto, three sons: Larry Baisch of Lewisville, Texas; Mark Baisch of De Soto; and Mike Baisch of Festus; two brothers: Warren Baisch of De Soto; and Carl Baisch of De Soto; two sisters; June Robison of Columbia; and Dotty Hagelman of Hillsboro; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Haverstick and Betty Heffron.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday (July 16) at Dietrich-Mothershead Chapel in De Soto, officiated by Rev. Gene Moses. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in De Soto.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 12671 State Road CC, Festus, Mo., 63028.
Arrangements were under the direction of Deietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
