Betty Margaret Huselton, 82, of Butler passed away Sunday at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born April 18, 1927, in Penn Township, the daughter of the late E. Dale Hamilton and the late Florence B. Brown Hamilton. She was a direct descendant of Robert Brown, the first settler of Penn Township in 1796-1797.

Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she had joined many committees, helped with Christmas dinners for years and was a Steven Minister.

She was one of the first evening students to earn several associate degrees at the Butler County Community College.

The organizations she was involved with include the GFWC Penn Township Woman's Club, past president; the Butler County Federated Woman's Club, past president and southwest district chairman; past member of the Butler Country Club; immediate past matron of the Maqueda Chapter 421 Order of Eastern Star; active in Meals on Wheels for many years; past president of the Oak Hills Garden Club; secretary of the Butler Stone House Antique Car Club; past King Lion at the Penn Glade Lions Club; and charter member and past president of the Penn Glade Lioness Club.

Betty had owned and operated the Highland Haven Personal Care Home in Penn Township.

She played the organ and piano and was a pianist at Oak Hills Christian Church, VA Butler Healthcare, Hanging of Greens and many local functions, such as Sunrise service. Her love was gardening, volunteering and music.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years; five daughters; a son; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a grandson-in-law; a sister; and a brother.

She was preceded in death by a sister at birth; a granddaughter, Julie Lynn; a grandson, Brian Fennell; a great-grandson, Andrew Lynn; and a step-granddaughter, Diane Jaksec.

HUSELTON--Friends of Betty Margaret Huselton, who died Sunday, May 3, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler. Interment will be at the Butler County Memorial Park.
