Barbara, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, godmother, aunt and friend, is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 55 years, Albert Andre`; daughter, Deborah Martindale; grandson, Tony Martindale; sister and best friend, Mary Lane-Bettencourt; brother, Ervin Lane; goddaughter, Ceyenna Tillman and honorary goddaughter, Daija Tillman. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and grand-nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Margaret Lane; brothers, Charles, James Wendell, Robert, and Richard Lane.
Barbara has spent the majority of her 73 years in Butte County and has made immeasurable contributions as a community leader. Barbara was a 4H leader in the Oroville area for 25 years, and a long time member of the Ole Time Fiddlers Association. Both Barbara and Albert were Passages foster grandparents to several young persons in the Oroville area. Barbara was recognized by the President of the United States and the Mayor of Oroville for her outstanding community service. Barbara's passion was working with "her kids" at St. Thomas Catholic School and watching them grow into productive young adults. Barbara was inspirational in developing the student library at St. Thomas Catholic School and hosting their annual book fair. Last fall St. Thomas Catholic School dedicated the library to Barbara and it is now the "Barbara Andre`" Library. In Barbara's free time you could always find her down at Shakey's Pizza parlor on Friday nights supporting her favorite band, the Flow Masters, which consisted of her grandson, Tony and "her boys", Dave, Doug, Brian and Zac.
