June Parks Boulware, 89, of Raytown, MO, died peacefully on April 17th at the KC Hospice House. June was born on August 29, 1921 as the fourth child to Jenny and Clarence Parks. She graduated from Appleton City High School in 1939 and from K.C. General Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She then joined the U.S. Army and served her country during WWII as 1st Lieutenant in North Africa, Turkey and France. Upon her return to the U.S., she continued her nursing career, eventually retiring from St. Luke's Hospital in 1985. June married William Harrington Boulware, Jr. in 1950 and together they moved to Raytown, MO, with his daughter Donna Kathleen Boulware (McVay). June and Harry had three children, all surviving: Cindy Boulware-Copowycz, Kansas City, MO; Michelle Tatlock (Charles), Albuquerque, NM; Gary Boulware (Laurie), Raytown, MO. Also surviving are son-in-law, Richard McVay, 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. A graveside memorial service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Garden, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, April 20th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be offered to K.C. Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., KCMO 64145, or to the American Cancer Society , 1100 Pennsylvania Ave., KCMO 64105.
