DIXON - Dorothy Jane Batha of Dixon, died Monday, April 4, 2011, after a long fight with cancer.
She was born to Joseph and Mary (Bryson) Fairfield in Easton, Pa. She married Julius Batha on Sept. 8, 1948, in Donnellan, N.J. Julius died Aug. 14, 1995. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her precious pet, Zoe.
She also was preceded in death by her son, Dean "Jason" Batha; her parents; her in-laws, Joseph and Mary Batha; her sister, Martha Christiansen; her brother, Al Bryson; niece, Shirley Dailey; and nephew, Ryan Glover.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Joseph Batha and wife, Sally (Burdge) Batha; grandsons, Daniel Julius Batha and Sonny Joseph Batha; nieces and nephews, Doyle "Jr." and Dorothy Jane (Christianson) Stark of Davenport, Iowa, Jerry and Linda (Christiansen) Seivertson of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jo Ann Glover of Phoenix, Patrick and Marsha (Christiansen) Bowe of Boise, Idaho, and Oscar and Sharon (Christiansen) Rios of Davenport, Iowa; stepdaughters, Jennifer (Gonnerman) Albrecht, Molly Gonnerman, and Ruth Gonnerman; great-granddaughter, Jade Louise Satterfield; and several great- and great-great nieces and great-nephews.
Honorable mention friends include Dora Smith of Jackson, N.J., Marilyn Weaver of Freeport, Bob and Gloria Flye of Como, and Jack and Maureen Rosquist of Dixon.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ, 1902 16th Ave., Sterling, with Joe Puckett officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Toys for Tots and Happy Tails Animal Shelter.
