Burton is now reunited with wife Verna. Born in Green Bay, Wis. Great year to be a Packer! Served in the Navy. Worked at Mercer Steel. He owned and operated Alton Sanitary Service and several restaurants in Portland and on the Oregon coast, with the most recent being the University Grill in Portland. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Alton in Texas; children, Denise (Joe) Kanthack, Wendy (John) Rethati, Leslie (Chad) Thomas, Brian and Jeff Alton; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Service at 10 a.m. April 12, 2011, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. A private graveside service will follow.
