JACK E. TOWNZEN, 77, passed away on October 28, 2004 with family by his side. Jack was born to Grayson Arthur and Edna Mae Scroggins Townzen in Strawn, Texas on Dec. 18, 1926. He grew up in Ranger and graduated from Ranger High School and Ranger Jr. College. After serving in the Navy during WWII he met and married Mary Garren of Odessa on December 23, 1949. They moved to Midland in 1960 to manage a Murphy and Rochester insurance and real estate office. Jack was a member and past president of the Midland Home-builders Association; many Midlanders still live in a Townzen built home. Being of 32nd Degree KCCH Mason, he was also a past president of both Midland and Odessa Scottish Rite Associations. Jack loved all sports and was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jack Jr., brothers, James, Thomas 'Tom', B.E. "Red", and Robert.

Jack is survived by Mary, his wife of 54 years; son, Mark with wife Crystal and grandson Curtis of Ft. Worth; sister, Mary Lou and husband Jimmy Samford of Austin and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
