Passed away peacefully on November 17, 2006 while her family assisted her passing with heartfelt prayers. Born in Calabasas, Arizona and later moved to Tubac, Arizona where she met and married her lifetime companion Jesus Solarez Alvarez.
Rita was preceded in death by grandson, Christopher Alvarez and husband, Jesus Solarez Alvarez. In their early years of marriage, they lived in Sahuarita, Arizona, Johnson Camp, Arizona, Crested Butte, Colorado and then settled in Tucson, Arizona to raise their children.
Rita loved her family and always found ways to keep them busy and on their feet. She loved the green forest and white snow. She loved picnic outings with her husband and children in their younger days. Rita was a very special lady who touched many hearts and filled our lives with happiness. She will be truly missed by all of us and will remain in our hearts forever.
Rita is survived by son, Jesus Alvarez; Daughters, Edelia Altamirano, Margaret (Alfred) Felix and Irene (Jesus) Sanchez. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 40 great grand children.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. Mass will be offered Wednesday, November 22, 2006, 10:00 am at St. Monica's Church, 212 W. Medina. Interment to follow at Tubac Cemetery.
