Roger Lee Adkins, 60, of Radford, died Thursday, January 24, 2002. He was a retired employee of VDOT as a Program Support Technician, Sr. with 32 years of service, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Lee and Iva McGuire Adkins.

Survivors include his wife, Adell M. Adkins; brother and sister-in law and four sisters and brothers in- law, Marvin N. and Doris Adkins of Radford, Elizabeth and Claude Hill of Fairlawn, Doris and Walter Tolley, Sr. of Christiansburg, Coleen and Robert McGhee of Radford, and Faye and Michael Fisher of Christiansburg; and a foster brother, Ronald L. McGuire of Dublin and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held Sunday, January 27, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Fairlawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Collins and Pastor Lee Sarver officiating. Interment followed in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 conducted military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Fairlawn Baptist Church, 6758 Oxford Avenue, Radford, Virginia 24141. Mullins Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
