Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, April 5, 2011, Tuesday, p. 9-A:

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Lt. Col. Charles M. Baker (USAF Ret), 86, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday April 6, 2011 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Molly Lawlor officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home.

Mr. Baker passed away April 2, 2011 at his home. He was a member of Barksdale Air Force Base Chapel One, Life member of Military Officers Association of America, Pilot Classes of World War II, American Legion Post 14, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5951, Retired Officers Association, American Nursing Association, lifetime member of Sigma Theta Tau (honor society of nursing), member of Phi Kappa Phi (collegiate honor society) and a Notary Public.

He was an avid gun enthusiast and marksman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, reading, automobile enthusiast, and a general craftsman.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his mother Fern Carol Riley (Morse); father, Raymond Baker; son, Charles Lawrence "Larry" Baker.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-four years, Lora Kathleen Baker; brother, Gary Lee Riley and wife Georgine; brother, Richard J. Riley and wife Betty; daughter, Lora Baker Lucas and Steven, son, Patrick Lee Baker and wife Penny. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Todd Lucas and wife Kayla, Timothy Lucas and wife Angie, Andrew Baker, Michael Sean Baker, Christopher Baker, Matthew Baker, Stephanie Baker, Lacey Baker; great grandchildren: Nicholas Lucas, Kirby Kathleen Lucas, Austin Lucas, Cohen Lucas, Harleigh Hutchens.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Baker, Todd Lucas, Timothy Lucas, Andrew Baker, Christopher Baker, and Matthew Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Lucas, Gary Riley and Richard Riley.
