Daughter Flossie Elliott passed away in 1915.
Sadie Shroll Elliott passed away on 10 May 1917 from cancer leaving Asa to rear the four living children alone.
Asa promptly took another wife, Margaret Ethel "Maggie" Curtis, age 22, on 13 Nov 1918 in Jasper County, Indiana.
In 1920, Asa and his family were still residing in Jasper County, Indiana. The family included Dee, age 18; Sylvia, age 16; Myrtle, age 15; Harvey, age 12; and Violet, aged 5y 11 months.
