Adkins, Danny Neal "Fuzzy", 61, passed away on Friday (March 25, 2011) at his home in Big Stone Gap.
He was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. He was formerly employed with the B. F. Robinette Construction Co., among various companies. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the John Fox, Jr. V.F.W. Post #5715.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ruth Grubb Adkins, and his parents, Hobert and Viola (Moore) Adkins.
Surviving are one son, Michael Grubb and wife Rebecca of Enterprise, AL; two daughters, Wendy Adkins Engelmann and husband Jim of Nashville, TN and Cindy Grubb Harris and husband Nick of Big Stone Gap; three grandchildren, Blake Fugate, Ana Fugate and Landon Engelmann; two sisters, Dianna Adkins of Rose Hill, VA and Delilah Talley and husband "Butter" Talley of Big Stone Gap; two brothers, Jimmy Adkins and wife Jan of Morristown, TN and Ronald Adkins and wife Alberta of Mooresburg, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap, VA.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap with Earl Mumpower officiating.
The family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday to go in procession.
The pallbearers will be: Tommy Coomer, Bobby Coomer, Sam Beason, Tommy Fleenor, Midge Bishop and Mike Estep. Honorary pallbearers will be: Robert Bishop, Andy Owens and Spencer Owens.
