Funeral services for Edward W. Adams, 77, 1303 W. Thomas, who died Saturday at a local nursing home, will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in the Denton Funeral Home Chapel with the Gene Fooks of Lakeview Christian Home and Rev. Charles Crutchfield of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens.

A Lodge of Sorrows will convene at the Masonic Temple at 2:15 p.m. Monday.

A 40-year Carlsbad resident, he retired in 1970 from the purchasing and supply department at PCA. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eddy Lodge #21 AF&AM and Signet Chapter #9 Royal Arch Masons, of which he was a Past High Priest.

He married Louise Russell in Santa Fe in June 1940. The couple moved to Carlsbad in 1943.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, John R. Adams, Santa Fe, and E. Lee Adams, Parker, Colo.; one brother, Robert Adams, Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Jane Markwell, Olympia, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
