Graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1968(?). He married Theresa Ellen Lerma in 1973. In 1972, joined the Killeen Police Dept. where he served until his death. He eventually attained the rank of Captain, leading the patrol department. He also attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA. Had a daughter, Karey Anne in 1975, a son in 1977, Steven Douglas. Resided in Killeen, TX until his death. Diagnosed with Colon cancer in 1987. Died in 1992 after succumbing to liver cancer which had moved from his colon.
