She was the second child of Lewis and Hazel Ballinger Sickels. She married Ralph Wayne Darringer on 11 Nov 1939 and had three children: Robert, Ralph Jr and Ruth Frances. Ruth was adopted out and was named Betty Sue by the family who adopted her. She was in a bad marraige and was afraid if she did not put her up for adoption when she was born that she would not be able to survive. It was a decision she regretted her entire life. After her divorce from Ralph she married William Hugo Eifert on 19 Aug 1944 in Cedar Falls IA. He was a German immigrant who was 18 years older than her. He was the love of her life. Of this union was born five children: William Frederick, Richard Henry, Lewis Garrett, Gary Dean and Hazel Frances. Preceding her in death was her parents and her husband William, a son Gary, five brothers, Allen, Lou, John, Grant and Sewell and one sister Sylvia. Surviving her is one brother Melvin and one sister Donna.
