Alfred Daniel Bunker, the son of Arthur and Helen Doyle Bunker, (name originally Vadebanqueur)was born January 9, 1908 in Minneapolis, MN. His childhood years were spent in Columbia Heights, MN and it was in that community that he received his early education.

Alfred married Mabel Totman in January of 1938, at Corpus Christi Church in Fort Dodge, IA. They lived in that community for a few years before moving to Everly in 1943. Alfred was a truck driver for 40 years, much of that time working for Schoenewe Topsoil in Everly. He retired in 1971.

On October 31, 1964, Alfred married Evelyn Schloerman in Spencer. They continued to make their home in Everly, where he was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Bunker passed away at the Spencer Hospital on April 14, 1984, at the age of 76 years, 3 months, and 5 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Mabel in 1963. Alfred is survived by his wife, Evelyn; daughters and their husbands: Marilyn and Ervin Meisheid of Everly and Delores and Don Ellis of Clearwater, Florida, 1 step-son, Jay Donaldson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 6 grandchildren; 5 step grand children; 3 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild; 1 brother, Jack Bunker of Fort Dodge; other relatives and friends.
The services were held at St Mary's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 1984 in Everly Iowa. Officiating was father Thomas Munn, casket bearers were: Chuck Pemble, James Keleher, Edwin Keefer, Everettt Hintz, Stan Schoelerman, Ron Schoenewe.

Interment is at Corpus Christi Cemetery in Ft Dodge, Iowa. Funeral arrangements by Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, Iowa.
