BLANCHFIELD Daniel A., 88, of Mahwah, formerly of Ho-Ho-Kus and Upper Saddle River, passed away on December 8, 2012, surrounded by his loving family in Valley Hospice, located in the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff. Born in Ho-Ho-Kus in 1924 to John and Gertrude Blanchfield, he resided in Upper Saddle River for 43 years. Dan was an Army veteran of World War II and a Member of the New York Stock Exchange for 40 years. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife, Dolores Stoutenburgh Blanchfield, in 1989, and his second wife, Jeanne Yerger Blanchfield, in 2005. Dan was also predeceased by his brothers John, William "Red", Francis "Frank", Richard, his twin, Robert, and sister Gertrude "Cis". Dan is survived by his six children, Bobbi Emra (Bruce) of Mahwah, Daniel Jr. (Maria) of Burbank, CA, Cathryn Pruiksma (Dave) of Greer, SC, Emily (Michael Kropp) of Mahwah, Julie Hagan (Bill) of Limerick, PA, and Andrew of Waldwick. Dan is also survived by his 15 grandchildren, Devon Corbet (KC Dutcher), Jamie Corbet, Meghan Corbet, Julie Emra, Juan Raymundo, Astrina Raymundo, Jason Raymundo, David Pruiksma (Amanda), Steven Pruiksma (Nichole), Katie Pruiksma, Larissa Pruiksma, Jon Klothe, William Hagan, Ryan Hagan, and Erin Hagan; his four great-grandchildren, Liam Corbet Dutcher, James Corbet, Adam Pruiksma, and Abigail Pruiksma; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and his caregiver of six years, Sophie Borzecka. Dan was a member of the Buttonwood Club of New York City and the Friday men's lunch group at Ramsey Country Club. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Gabriel's RC Church in Saddle River, NJ. Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675; or Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.
