Della Mae Church, 67, our beloved mother, passed away from a short illness on May 12, 2005. She was the wife of the late Vernon Rell Church, who died in 1988. Della was born in Wayne County, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Isom Vance and Martha Vance Workman and her husband, Troy Workman. She is survived by her sons, Danny Church and wife, Patricia of Troutville and Donald Church of Rustburg; her daughters, Deborah Ashby and husband, Curtis of Rustburg, Martha Keen and husband, Tony of Keen Mt., Dorothy Church of Rustburg, and Vickie Guffey and her husband, Thomas G. of Huddleston; and five grandchildren, Latasha Kaye Church, Tiffany Nicole Church, Joshua Tyler Ashby, Tristan Garrett Guffey, and LeAnna Kay Maynard. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Michael Shepherd; and her brothers, Robert Vance and Leanord Vance. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 15, 2005, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, May 16, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charlie Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens in Roanoke.
