Patsy Ruth Haas, 80, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2011, at Hubbard Hospice House after a long illness.
Patsy was kind, thoughtful and a very giving person. She gave of herself to everyone she knew, never wanting or asking for anything in return. She was a member of Brown United Methodist Church. Her life exemplified her love, devotion and service for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, always sharing her faith with everyone. She blessed so many in her life and will be missed very much by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Haas Sr.; parents, Joseph and Pearl McCormick; sister, JoAnn Gibson; mother-in-law, Vaun Haas; and sister-in-law, Rosie Painter.
She is survived by her son, James H. Haas Jr. of Cross Lanes; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Jim Barnhart of Charleston; grandchildren, Jamie Barnhart, Becca Barnhart and Alec Haas; brothers, Luther (Loretta) McCormick of Fairplain, Edwin "Sonny" (Dolly) McCormick of Teays Valley and Wallace "Bud" (Mary) McCormick of Gandeeville; sisters, Fran McCormick of Moscow, Idaho, Delores "Squeege" Thaxton of Franklin, Indiana, and Brenda (Archie) Lloyd of Deer Creek, Colorado. She is also survived by her very dear sisters-in-law, Millie, Reva, Sue, Debbie and Donna; and a host special nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
A service to honor the life of Patsy Haas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, at Brown United Methodist Church, 4314 Woodrum Lane, Charleston. Burial will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Brown United Methodist Church.
