Gordon "Cecil" Eugene Cecil, age 71, of New Palestine, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011. He was born Feb. 18, 1940 in Allock, Ky.

He worked for Ford Motor Company and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Chaper 1 Harley Davidson Group of Indianapolis.

Survivors include wife, Folorence Slaven Cecil; daughter, Rebecca McDaniel (Monte); sons, Michael Cecil, Stephen Cecil (Susie); brother, James Cecil; sisters, Delores Montgomery, Duretta Inman (Ronnie), Devona Deese, Delinda Gautney (Robert), Debra Guilleon (Brian); numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family; three grandchildren, Halee Cecil, Amanda and Luke McDaniel; step-grandchildren, Whitney and Ezekiel Jefford.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie Eugene Cecil and Pearl Haynes Cecil; brother, Lowell Cecil; and sister, Denada Pullium.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in Hendryx Mortuary Chapel, 19 E. Main Street, New Palestine. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the Mortuary.
