Fay Marie Sharp, 75, of Lake City, passed away July 28, 2009 at her residence. She was born April 20, 1934 in Anderson County to the late Frank and Nora Richards Cox. Fay was a member of the Fratersville Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, quilting, talking on her CB, and shopping at Wal-Mart. Fay was preceded in death by her husband, Vestal "Toga "Sharp; parents; granddaughter, Hope Amanda Foust; great grandson, Matthew York; brother in law, Floyd Byrd, and special friend, Uncle Brody Cox.Fay is survived by children, Joyce Phillips and husband, Charlie of Sylvania, OH, Walter "Buck" Sharp and wife, Nancy of Lake City, Angela Colston of Lake City, Michael Sharp and wife, Margaret of Lake City, Iva Davis of Briceville; sisters, Betty Byrd of Ethridge, Judy McFadden of Indiana; brothers, Robert Cox and wife, Jean of Ohio, Jeff Cox and wife, Cassandra of Ohio; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; special friends, Sammy Miles, Mack Wilson and Steve Bunch of Briceville, Tommy Slover of Lake City; a host of other family and friends.Funeral services were held July 31 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Sharp and Rev. Buddy Miles officiating. Interment was in the Leach Cemetery. Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
