THURSDAY JUNE 17, 1971

EVA E. STEWART

Mrs. Eva E. Stewart, 70, died unexpectedly at her home at 602 Short, Wednesday at 2:15 p.m.

She was born June 1, 1901, at Welch, Okla., the daughter of Albert S. and Barbara E. Cartmill Greer. She married Paul L. Stewart June 1, 1963, at Fulton. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Brethren Church.

Surviving are the husband of the home; eight children, Gerald D. Smith, Mrs. Margaret L. Weatherbie, Homer A. Potter, and Mrs. Sharon Wilson, Fort Scott; Howard J. Smith, Lenexa, Kan.; Mrs. Mabel C. Frye, Pierre, S.D., Mrs. Shirley Mitzner, Shawnee, Kan., and Mrs. Elizabeth Shannon, Oklahoma City; one brother, Bill Greer of Welch, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Alpha Lawson, Covina, Calif. There are 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 and at Earl's Memorial Home with Rev. Russell C. Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS for the funeral of Mrs. Eva Stewart were all grandsons of the deceased, James Smith, Donald E. Frye Jr., Jim and Gary Frye, Larry and Charles Weatherbie.

Art Witt, vocalist, was accompanied by Mrs. Howard Jones.

Eva married to Alvin Smith 1917-1936, H. Potter 1937-1959, and Paul Stewart 1963-1971. Paul worked as the caretaker at Gunn Park and, for a time, Eva and Paul resided at the caretaker house at Gunn Park.
