Waldo Symonds "Buddy" Andrus, Jr.

SHREVEPORT, LA ? Waldo Symonds "Buddy" Andrus, Jr. was born May 28, 1928 in Arkadelphia, AR to Waldo Symonds Andrus, Sr. and Mattie Ross Andrus. He died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in Shreveport, LA. Buddy grew up in Shreveport and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School, additional education in East Texas.

Buddy always worked in sales and retired as Shreveport Branch Manager of Menge Pump and Machinery out of New Orleans, LA. Buddy was an active member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church and sang in the choir as long as his health permitted. He was a member of Blanchard Masonic Lodge and in the past was Worshipful Master of Lebanon Lodge. He was also a member of Shriners International and the Scottish Rite. Buddy loved the outdoors, hunting, and especially fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Thomas Ross Andrus and nephew, Mike Durham. His stepdaughter, Linda Fletcher Haro and stepson, Richard Hamilton Fletcher also preceded Buddy in death.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Marcella Huckaby Andrus and her granddaughters, Angela Haro Olson and husband, Bobby, Sharon Haro Settles and husband, Steve and her daughter, Amy Elizabeth Sims. Surviving Buddy is his daughter, Betty Suzanne Stafford, her husband, Dr. John Stafford, their daughter, Kimberly Lynn and husband, Brandon Kennedy and their daughter, Zoey; his sister, Bea Andrus Maulden, her daughter, Dr. Nancy and husband, Dr. Kenneth Easley, and their son, Jordan and wife, Leah; niece, Linda Andrus; and nephews, Dr. Thomas Ross Andrus and Karl Andrus.

Services celebrating Buddy's life will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2011, at Trinity Heights Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Kris Chenier and Rev. Randy Riley. Interment will follow in Rose-Neath Cemetery, Bossier City, LA. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, the Building Fund at Trinity Heights Baptist Church, or the charity of choice.
