Hazel Love Macauley, 90, of Boone and Blowing Rock Hospital Extended Care Facility, died Saturday, April 6, 2000 in Blowing Rock.

She was born July 6, 1911 in Watauga County, to Dave and Martha Greene Love.

Mrs. Macauley was manager of the Valle Crucis Elementary School Cafeteria and for a number of years was employed at the Appalachian State Teachers College Book Store. She was a member of Brushy Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, one brother, one sister, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Macauley, a daughter, Marietta Yates, a sister, Marilla Hodges and three brothers, Coy Love, Clyde Love and Lawrence Love.

Service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Austin and Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Gerald Hodges. The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1-2 p.m. prior to the services at Austin & Barnes. Burial will follow in the Adams Cemetery.
