Joseph was the son of Emmanuel Seymour (of France, then lived in Cuba) and Rebecca Hudson (see note below). It is possible that Joseph's middle name was DeWolfe, named after his father's employer; Colonel DeWolfe, from Bristol, RI. That information was handed down thru our family, but I was not able to confirm it in town records. Joseph married Eunice Hubbard June 22, 1823, they had 7 children. He was a farmer and died of "paralysis". He is buried with his wife, Eunice and his brother's family. Their son Capt. William Francis Seymour is our ancestor.
