Mrs. Margaret E. Agreen, known fondly as "Marge," age 70, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2011, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Philadelphia on June 18, 1940, Marge was the daughter of the late George J. Healy, Sr. and Margaret E. Remley Healy. She was devoted to children and began her career as the cook at the Hope Lutheran Child Care Center in New Castle. Later, she ran an in-home day care. Marge then returned to the Hope Lutheran Child Care Center as an administrative assistant. Throughout her life, she volunteered extensively with Girl Scouts of America.
Marge delighted in spending time with her beloved family and cooking wonderful meals for them. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and creating all types of decorative crafts as treasured gifts for family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, George J. Healy, Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Robert C. Agreen; children, Michael R. Agreen (Gail) of New Castle, Kathleen M. Moore (John) of Millsboro, and Scott J. Agreen and Marcy L. Agreen, both of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, June Eisenhower (William) of Warminster, PA, and Gail Shea (Walter) of Brookhaven, PA; and grandchildren, Kristopher, Rebecca, and David.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, February 21st, at Hope Lutheran Church, 230 Christiana Road at Edinburgh Drive, New Castle, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Marge to The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council, 501 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19713 (302/456-7150).
