Marion Spencer Hanson 78, a long time residence of Indianapolis, passed away November 10, 2008 in Pompano Beach, FL.

He was born on December 16, 1929 in Saint Louis, MO, where he attended Saint Phillip Neri Catholic School. Marion joined the United States Army in 1949, and served active duty in Germany until 1952. After serving his country, he decided to pursue a career in the automobile industry as a car salesman and promoted to management thereafter. Marion hobbies were his loves for automobiles, particularly, drop top convertible Cadillacs, boats and playing Euchar. But most importantly, he enjoyed life to the fullest by spending quality time with his sisters. In addition, he had an avid love for animals.

Marion is survived by his sisters, Eleanora E. Miles, Fran M. Cole; step daughters, Sandy Holmberg and Peggy Westberry; several nieces, nephews, family members, friends and his estranged wife, Carol.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marion Hanson, and a brother, Albert T.

Services will be Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Washington Park North with calling at the center on Friday, November 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelters and Disabled Veterans Organizations of your choice.
