Deceased Name: DEATH: NETTA CORNELL SKIDMORE
Our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Netta Cornell Skidmore, age 75, passed away suddenly June 12, 1992 of a heart attack while visiting a son and family in Corvallis, Oregon.
Netta was born April 20, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas C. Cornell and Agnes Stromness Cornell. She grew up in the 33rd Ward in Salt Lake City, graduated from East High School, and attended Brigham Young University, and University of Utah. She married Meryl S. Skidmore in the Salt Lake LDS Temple January 21, 1942.
She is survived by her dear husband, Meryl S. Skidmore, St. George, Utah. sister, Mrs. Arthur (Afton) Harvey, of San Mateo, Calif.; and her brothers, T. Paul, Dean S., and F. Norman Cornell, of Salt Lake City. Her brother, Charles W. Cornell preceded her in death. She is also survived by her children, Mrs. Nolan (Meretta) Adams, St. George; James, Salt Lake City; Bruce, Denver, Colo.; and Cornell Skidmore, Corvallis, Oregon; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ were the two most important things in her life. She has given devoted LDS Church service all her life including a mission to the North Central States and, with her husband Meryl, a mission to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She has nurtured her children and more recently her grandchildren of whom she was most proud, in helping them develop their talents and abilities. She was extraordinary in giving freely to anyone in need of help and has been greatly loved and admired for her unselfish dedication and innumerable acts of kindness to others.
