ULYSSES DISPATCH
THE GRIM REAPER CLAIMS CORNELIUS REYNOLDS
Died on Thursday February 6,1913 of a lingering illness at the home of his brother,Thomas Reynolds,South of Ulysses,Cornelius Reynolds age 74 years.
Deceased was born in county Snead, Ireland, coming to America when quite young, and had made his home with his brother Thomas for many years. His surviving relatives besides his brother Thomas are : a brother John Reynolds of Canton ,New York, three nephewa and a niece in New York ; a nieca Mrs. Mary Walsh near Ulysses; a nephew Thomas Reynolds of Lincoln, and three nephews,sons of Thomas Reynolds; also three nephews in western part of Nebraska, all of whom,excepting the last named and his brother John, were present at the funeral, which was held at the church of the Immaculate Conception at Ulysses on Saturday February8, at ten o'clock and in the temporary absence of Rev. Father Louhran, the Rev. Father Agias of Seward offciating at the requiem mass. The Rev. Father delievered a short but impressive sermon ( a delicate task to perform he being unacquated with the deaceased). Father Aqias spoke feeling of the faith brought from Ireland and which proved a source of consolation to the man whose last illness was fortified by the sacraments of the holy church.The respect and esteem of many old friends and neighbors of deceased were attested by the large audience present at the funeral.
The relatives have the sympathy of the community in their bereavment. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery near town. Requiescat in peace.
